Fashion Finds: End of Season Deals

I don’t know about where you live, but the weather here has been a bit bipolar. It can’t make up its mind on whether or not to move towards fall or hang on to the last bit of summer. Whatever temp it is where you are, fall really is just around the corner, and I can’t wait. The good news is that it means that many stores are putting items on clearance to make room for new fall inventory. That means that you can find some really great items for incredible prices. I have scoured the internet looking for the best deals and found some great staples for a good price as well a few trendy items that are heavily dicounted. Hurry and grab them before they sell out of your size! Keep in mind that prices are subject to change at any time.

Fashion Finds: Loft Outlet

My favorite time to shop at the Loft Outlet is during in late spring in preparation for summer.  I go to one of the Loft Outlet stores every year in May when I am on my annual girls’ beach trip and stock up for the summer.  Sadly, that has been delayed this year, but I hope it is happening this month.  Anyway, I always find cute pieces to add to my wardrobe.  I love their shorts, especially. They are super cute and fit really well on me. I do typically size down one size in most Loft clothes from my usual size.  I feel like their stuff runs a little bigger in general.  I also always love their summer dresses and rompers and jumpsuits.  I love the classic shapes and styles that that are known for.  Their clothes are really well made and hold up well in the wash.  Check out these cute new arrivals at great discounted prices.  Plus, you can get at extra 15% off an order of 4+ items with the code SUN.

Father’s Day Shopping

If you live under a rock like I do, you may not have realized yet that Father’s Day is coming up this weekend. That day tends to always sneak up on me.  I guess a lot of things are usually going on around this time of year, particularly the end of the school year and start of summer vacation, that I just loose track of the date.  When I was teaching, you better believe I always knew what day of the week it was and what the date was all the time.  The moment summer vacation began, though, it all went out the window and I had no clue what day it was.  Now that I am not teaching, this blog actually helps me to keep up with the date. Otherwise, I would be totally lost. Anyway, if Father’s Day has snuck up on you, I am here to help.  I have some last minute gifts for that dad in your life that just might put a smile on his face this year.  Many of these items are available on Amazon Prime, so you still have time to get them here in time for the big day with 2-day shipping.  The others may require you to pay extra for faster shipping or and IOU note.

1. Wireless Ear Buds

I am not sure that there are many men out there that wouldn’t enjoy these, especially if he is someone that likes to work out or listen to music while working. Most people would go for the Apple AirPods (Best Buy), but my husband really loves his Bose Sound Sport Wireless Headphones (Amazon). There are many less expensive options as well on Amazon.

2. Grilling Tools

We all know that it is usually the men in our lives that do the grilling, right? Well, what man wouldn’t think it was cool to be able to brand his steaks when he is out cooking on the grill? Check out this branding iron (Amazon) that allows him to change it up to say whatever he wants! If you have a dad that loves to grill and also loves to golf, this stainless steel grilling set (Amazon) with a golfing twist is just the thing for him.

3. Messenger Bag

The Alden Messenger Bag from Trades of Hope is perfect for the guy that goes to the office everyday to carry all of his important papers.  He can look stylish while also supporting women in India who are rising up out of poverty.  It pairs perfectly with the Leather Travel Wallet that is also handcrafted by women in India.

4. Smart Gadgets

My husband is obsessed with smart gadgets that he can control with his phone.  Things like these ecobee4 Smart Thermostats (Amazon) and this Kwikset Smart Lock (Amazon) are among his favorites.

5. Outdoor Games

For that dad that loves to hang out and play games outside with his kids or friends, these yard games are a great option. Cornhole is a great outdoor game. Choose his favorite NFL team (Amazon), his favorite College Team (Amazon), or this less expensive portable version (Amazon). This Giant Jenga Game (Amazon), this Bocce Ball Set (Amazon), and this Ropoda Yard Pong Set (Amazon) are also great options.

6. Under Armor T-Shirt

These Under Armour shirts (Amazon) are great for the dad that likes to work out or for lounging around the house.

7. Watch

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a nice watch as a gift.  This one by Michael Kors (Amazon) is very sleek and modern.  For a sportier, water resistant option, check out this Casio G-Shock Watch (Amazon).

8. Drone

Let’s think about it. Is there any man on this planet that wouldn’t think a drone was a cool gift? Boys and their toys! This Snaptain Wifi Drone (Amazon) is said to be great for beginners.

9. Neck Massage Pillow

I don’t think this really needs much explanation.  Maybe that special dad in your life would even let you use this Massage Pillow (Amazon) every now and then! <wink, wink>

10. Gift Card

If you are still struggling with the perfect gift, you can never go wrong with a gift card to his favorite store. These are really great stuffed inside a handmade card.

I hope you can find that perfect gift for that special dad in your life. Happy shopping!

Fashion Finds: Target

I have been having Target withdrawals.  With the move and trip to Disney, it has probably been at least a month since I have been.  You guys know it is my favorite store.  I could spend many hours and many dollars in that store daily if I could. I had to go and get my Target fix.  I wanted to check it out and see if they had any new finds for you guys.  It has been pretty miserable weather here where I live over the last few days.  It is super rainy and cold.  We were back in the 40’s this morning, and I have debating turning the heat back on. Instead, I am wrapped in a blanket to keep me warm as I type.  Anyway, despite the weather outside and my winter attire, I went into Target looking to find some cute summery pieces that were casual and great for everyday summer wear.   I will say that I was a little disappointed in the selection of clothes, which is rare for me to say.  They had tons of pieces for the younger crowd that just didn’t work for me.  You guys, they had a ton of acid wash denim!!!  It was like a flash back to my youth and certainly not a trend that I think I will fall back into! LOL! They even had a pair of acid wash jeans with elastic cuffs! No thank you! The other negative for me was that they had a lot of dressier work clothes, and not a lot of casual pieces that I felt were appropriate for my age and taste. I will say that Target has always been a staple for me when it comes to shorts for the summer.  You can typically find cute patterned and solid shorts in a variety of lengths. While they didn’t have as wide of selection as they normally do, I did find some cute shorts to show you.  There were a ton of boxes everywhere around the store and employees everywhere today, so I think they are restocking and possibly adding new inventory.  I will have to go back in a few days and check it out again.  Maybe then I will have better luck.  Here is what I did find, though, that I loved.

Tank Top (unavailable online)

Grey Shorts

Mono chromatic looks are very in right now.

Crewneck Linen Top

Pink Shorts

Eyelet Tank Top (not my favorite but pairs well with these shorts for a mono-chromatic look)

High Rise Plaid Shorts

So adorable!

High Rise Seersucker Shorts

Tank Top

High Rise Ruffle Shorts

Tie Dye V-Neck Top

High Rise Shorts

My favorite outfit of the day!

Ruffle Top

Shorts

This would make a great cover-up dress for a day at the beach.

Dress (has pockets)

Sleeveless Crewneck Knit Midi Dress

Circle bags are very on-trend right now.

Circle Rope Tote

Straw Tote

Espadrille Wedges

Scalloped Slides

How fun is this?

Necklace

While I didn’t find a ton of casual outfits like I was hoping for, I did find some really great pieces. I will definitely go back soon to check out the new inventory they were putting out. For those of you that are fanatics about Vineyard Vines, Target is doing a collaboration with them that will be released May 18. These pieces will sell out quickly so be ready to head over there on Saturday to grab yours. Happy shopping!

Mother’s Day Shopping

I hope that everyone had an amazing Easter yesterday and got to spend some great quality time with the ones you love.  My day wasn’t all that great, unfortunately. My family and I did make it to church but much of the rest of the day involved me lounging in the recliner while my family continued to unpack boxes.   I felt horrible.  I am heading in to see my doctor in a little bit because I am pretty certain that I have a sinus infection.  Yay for me! Needless to say, I wasn’t the most pleasant person to be around yesterday because I felt horrible. This week I decided to find some great options for Mother’s Day gifts for you all.  Whether you are shopping for your mom, your mother-in-law, another special mom in your life or yourself, I think you will find the perfect gift here. Mother’s Day is only 3 weeks away, but that is plenty of time to get any of these items ordered and have them arrive in time for the big day.  Who knows, you may see something on here that you want for yourself! Feel free to share it with your hubby or kids! <wink, wink>

The Original Family Tree Necklace(Lisa Leonard Designs)

Now, this piece is the most expensive of all of the items on this list, but you can get 25% off plus a free necklace with any purchase this week only.  This necklace is from one of my favorite personalized jewelry designers, Lisa Leonard. I actually own this necklace myself. It is one of my favorite pieces, and I always get comments on it whenever I wear it.  I highly encourage you to look around her site for other beautiful pieces that you may also like while the sale is going on.

Mother’s Day Set(Trades of Hope)

This set is unique and helps women across the globe. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. It includes the following 3 pieces.

Kindhearted Mug-This ceramic, glazed mug is formed, etched, and painted by hand. This cheerful petite mug holds 8 ounces of your favorite morning beverages. A whimsical pink swirl design on the interior is an added fun touch! Created by artisans in Vietnam.

Momento Frame-Frame mom’s favorite 4″ x 6″ photo memories in this hand-carved picture frame with a whitewash finish. Created by artisans in India.

Mayan Blend Coffee-Harvesting the highest quality coffee from across Guatemala’s richest coffee regions, Mayan artisans utilize methods developed over the past 130 years. Full of rich history and flavors reminiscent of their culture and land, these artisans seek more than merely passing down these traditions. This group partners with various universities across the U.S. to help educate and provide medical assistance to their families. Each bag of coffee you purchase goes towards providing a healthy and prosperous future for Guatemalans for generations to come.

Wooden Sign(Amazon)

I think this sweet sign describes just about any mom that I know! Moms are the glue that holds most families together for sure!

Farmhouse Home Sign(Amazon)

I love this sign because you can change out the wreath to match the season or décor in your home.

The Lovely Tote Fashion Crocodile Circle Crossbody(Amazon)

This style of bag is super popular right now.  This mustard color is amazing, but there are other colors available. There is even a smaller version of this purse available as well.

Soft Notch Collar Pajama Set(Target)

How can you go wrong with a comfy pair of pajamas that are perfect for the warmer weather?  The yellow stripes add just a touch of sunshine to them as well.

Burnes 4-Opening Collage Family Frame(Target)

I thought this was cute and could be even better if given with family pictures already in it.

Large Round Basket  (Target) with Embrace Throw(Trades of Hope)

I love a great basket that can hold pillows or throws.  I think they look great by the fireplace.  This throw is AMAZING! I own one myself.  What is so unique about it is that it is handmade by women in India escaping poverty.  It is gorgeous and so soft!

Hearth and Hand with Magnolia Bamboo Bathroom Tray(Target)

I am not a bath taker myself, but I know a lot of moms love to relax in a warm bath.  This is perfect for those moms that love to read or relax with a glass of wine in the tub. You could throw in a good book or some bath salts with it.

Rae Dunn Mother’s Day Cookie Jar(Amazon)

Rae Dunn pottery is very popular right now.  Most Rae Dunn pieces have a word on them, but I love the flowers on this cookie jar. If you love this, hurry and grab it because quantities are limited! If you miss this one, this is also a great option.

Don’t let the day sneak up on you! It will be here before you know it. I know I would love any of these gifts from my kids or husband this Mother’s Day! I bet one or more of this would fit your style or the the style of a mom you love. Happy shopping!

Fashion Finds: Target

I hope everyone is enjoying the day off today like I am.  We had a busy weekend with practices, competitions, a home remodeling expo, and a little time for shopping. I am certainly enjoying just hanging at the house today doing laundry and relaxing.  I don’t think we will venture out except to do our usual practice drop off this afternoon.  It is super cold and crazy windy here today.  The wind chill is -2 degrees right now with a temp of 14 degrees. I like the cold but that’s a bit too cold for even me.  I am happy to stay in my warm, cozy house while it sounds like the walls will cave in any minute from the wind.

In between practice drop off and leaving to head to the cheer competition, I was able to squeeze in a little trip to Target to check out their new inventory after the holiday clearance.  Of course the first thing I saw when I walked in the door was what you see above…a ton of bathing suits! No thank you! I am not ready for those while there is literally snow on the ground outside. Maybe my friends down south would be interested in those, but you will just have to go to the store yourself because I will not be modeling any swimwear for you, probably ever! That’s one line I highly doubt I will ever cross.  I just walked right past that section without stopping. I had my shopping cart with me as I strolled through all the clothes.  By the time I finished, I had quite the buggy full of clothes to try on. The one thing I hate about trying on clothes is that you can’t take them all in with you at once so you have to find a place to leave your cart that won’t be in the way and that won’t get stolen. Once I found a spot, I grabbed my 6 items and started trying on. When I was done with those 6, I had to put my clothes back on and go back to my buggy to grab 6 more.  Let’s just say that I did this 3 or 4 times because there were so many pieces that grabbed my eye.  Not all that I tried on was something that I loved, so I picked a few of my favorites to show you.  No, I did not buy all of these, but they were definitely things that I considered.

Blue Polka Dot Sweatshirt

This top is super cute. The sleeves are more of a bubble sleeve which gives is a dressier look than just a plain old sweatshirt. My only drawback with it and why I didn’t purchase it is that it is cropped a little. I felt that it was a little too short for my long torso and my comfort level. Just for reference, I usually wear a medium, but I sized up in this to a large for a better fit and a little more length.

Grey Cardigan

I LOVE this cardigan. First of all, it is crazy soft, which is always a plus.  Second, it is a great neutral color that can go with so many things. It even comes in a lighter shade of grey online. The best part of all, though, is that it has POCKETS! I love anything with pockets.  This is the item that I may regret not buying, but I really tried to exhibit some self-restraint.

Stripped Hoodie

You guys know that I love stripes and this hoodie was totally calling my name.  I think it was the first thing I threw in the cart to try on. It’s cute and comfortable. Can you really go wrong with a hoodie? This is another item that I may regret not purchasing because it was so my style.

Cream PulloverPink Skinny Jeans

This outfit was super cute. The top is crazy soft.  I am wearing a small, which is a little too small for me (excuse my rolls), but they didn’t have a medium. I really wanted to try it on, though, because it is so soft. This top also comes in grey with cream stripes, but I didn’t like it as much as the cream. Online, it shows it also in burgundy and charcoal grey. I like this cream one paired with these pink jeans a lot.  If it had fit, I probably would have purchased this outfit.

Floral Blouse

I don’t typically wear a lot of red or florals, but I was drawn to this top for some reason.  It is a silky material and would pair great with a pair of black pants for a nice work outfit. If I were still teaching, I may have purchased this piece.

Star Sweatshirt

This sweatshirt is beyond soft.  It has sort of a vintage feel to it and I could not resist it.  This is one of the ones that I had to have.  In the picture I am wearing a medium but I sized up and got a large in this one for a more relaxed fit since it a juniors cut. It is so cute!

Stripped Romper

I was really on the fence about this romper.  Part of me loved it and part of me hated it.  I liked how the stripes made me look tall and thin, but I also felt clownish in the stripes.  What do you think?

Black SweaterLeopard Pants

This is the one outfit that I did end up purchasing.  I loved it so much.  These pants feel like leggings but they aren’t. They are also ankle length on me. This sweater pairs perfectly with them.  I will totally rock this outfit with my heeled ankle boots and will be date night ready.

Polka Dot Utility JacketBlack T-Shirt

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I love polka dots just about as much as I love stripes, if that is even possible. I LOVE this jacket so much.  I really wanted it, but I didn’t end up buying it. They only had it in a large in the store, and I felt like it was a little too big for me.  I just may have to order it, though, because it so adorable.  It even has a button so you can roll up the sleeves if you wanted to.  I just cannot tell you how much I love this jacket.  It was definitely my favorite of all the things I tried on.

Polka Dot Purse

Remember how I just said that I love polka dots? As I was heading to the checkout line, I passed this adorable polka dot purse.  I mean, come on! How cute is it? I had some restraint and did not purchase it, but I couldn’t resist showing it to you all.  I love how cute and dainty it looks.  It would be a great purse for spring.

Tangerine Purse

This was just another purse that was next to the polka dot one that caught my eye as a super fun color.  This would be another purse that is great for spring or just to add a pop of color to your outfit now. It doesn’t look like this particular color is avaible online right now, but this same purse is available in other colors online including a pretty berry pink.

I love trying on clothes and finding cute pieces.  I will tell you that there were many more pieces that I tried on that were also really great, but these were my favorites.  Head on over to your Target for a little me time and some retail therapy! Happy shopping!

Black Friday Tips and Tricks

Black Friday
Graphic by Krista Wallden at Creative Clips

Hello my loyal readers! I hope you all are gearing up for Thanksgiving this week with a little time off of work and out of school.  I know I am ready for it.  My Christmas decorations are for sure going up this week, and I can’t wait! I know that I normally do a style post on Mondays, but I decided that I would do something different today instead.  One of the biggest shopping days of the year is 4 days away so I wanted to talk to you a little bit about how to shop for great deals for your family and friends but also for clothing for yourself on Black Friday. For a shop-a-holic like me, this is one of the best days of the year!  How many of you go out and brave the shops? Do you start on Thursday or do you wait for Friday?  My mom, sister, and I have made it a tradition to head out early Friday morning every year and shop until we literally drop.  We always start with a quick trip to Starbucks (hot chocolate only for me), and then we hit Chick-fil-a right next door for some yummy Chicken Minis for breakfast.  Who doesn’t love Chicken Minis from Chick-fil-a? They are so good! Another big tradition that day for us is stopping by the Hallmark store to pick up some of their peppermint bark for another yummy treat.  We also like to get some warm cookies from the Great American Cookie Company.  Yes, we eat a lot on Black Friday. Hey, shopping all day in the crazy crowds is exhausting and we work up an appetite! I promise you that we walk it all off! Black Friday shopping with the two of them holds some of my favorite memories. There might be a really funny story of one of us being very pregnant while Black Friday shopping and laughing so hard that the preggo peed in her pants in the shoe department of Target. I won’t say which one of us it was, but I am sure you can guess. I’m not sure that we have ever laughed so hard. What a fun time that was! I am sad to say, though, that I won’t be able to go with them this year as we have decided not to travel down for Thanksgiving this year. I haven’ t decided yet if I will brave it alone on Black Friday here or not this year.  I don’t know if I will be in the mood to do it by myself but I probably won’t be able to resist it.  We will see.

Now, I know that most of you that head out for Black Friday shopping are focused on getting gifts for others at great deals, especially if you have kids.  Well, let me tell you that you should also take the time to focus on yourself while Black Friday shopping.  Honestly, I actually do the majority of shopping for my kids online before Black Friday. It’s just easier that way.  I find that trying to shop for toys on Black Friday is pretty chaotic.  Plus, it never fails that my youngest want THE HOT TOY of the year, and I know if I don’t purchase it early, I won’t ever et it. This is the day when I get the majority of my wardrobe.  There are so many amazing deals on clothing, shoes, and accessories on this day.  I am on the hunt for new boots this year because the majority of my boots somehow got destroyed in the move.  I don’t know what happened but all of my boots are cracking and peeling.  It’s crazy! Anyway, if you don’t want to brave the crowds, most stores also have great deals online.  Some have even started their sales already. I personally prefer to try things on in the store, but that is totally up to you.  Here are some of my tips for getting the most for your money on Black Friday.

1. Study and Prepare:

All this week before you head out on Friday, look at all of the leaked Black Friday ads online, and be sure to get a newspaper on Thursday.  That’s where all of the printed ads will be, and some stores put coupons in the paper that are good on that day.  Macy’s is one of those stores that always has coupons in the Thursday paper. Compare prices.  You want to make sure you are getting the best deal. Check out these sights for a link to all of your the Black Friday sneak peeks.

2. Make a list:

Make a list of all of the things you need to get for others first. Note what stores have the best deal on those items. Prioritize the list in order of importance. Then add to the list things that you would like to have for yourself (boots for me). Shopping without a list will cause you to buy items that you had not intended to buy.  You can’t go into the day blind.  You have to know what you are looking for.  I always make a list for each of my kids of all the things they have asked for. Then I highlight the things that I plan to or have already ordered for them, and I will pass was is left on the list to family. Then I make a list of all of the other people that I have to buy gifts for.  Make sure you have everyone on the list.  If I have an idea for that person, I will right it down. Otherwise I just have their name listed so I don’t forget to look for something.  I also know about how much I want to spend on those people so I am prepared when I am looking.

3. Make a Game Plan

From the ads, make a game plan. The ads will tell you what time the door buster specials start and end. Using your list, map out the order of what stores you are going to visit. Decide which stores have the must have items and go to those first. Checkout the door buster deals that are only available for a certain time period. Be sure to check coupons too. They are often limited to a certain time period as well.  Just prioritize! It is always better to go with a plan than the head out blindly. Otherwise, you will miss some of the items that you really want or you will end up buying things on the fly that you don’t really want.

4. Go to bed early on Thursday

Black Friday shopping is exhausting. If you can, try to go to bed early so you can get as much rest as possible.  It should be easy to fall asleep with a full belly of all the Thanksgiving goodies you have eaten all day. If you do go out shopping on Thursday, don’t stay out late if you are planning to go out on Friday too.  You need sleep.  I personally prefer to go just on Friday as I look at Thanksgiving day as time with my family that I don’t want to give up.

5. Get up Early

The earlier you can get started, the more likely you are to be able to get all of the things on your list. I personally believe that going early is the key to being able to have time to shop for yourself.  If you hit all of the stores early and get the things that you need for everyone else, you will be able to shop for yourself later in the day.

6. Shop with a friend or family member

Being with others is so much more fun.  Plus, one of you can hold a place in a very long line while the other one runs to get the things you need.  This will save you time later on.

7. Don’t bring your kids

If you have small children, do not bring them with you.  They will only slow you down and make shopping miserable for you and them. They will get tired. They will get bored. They will have meltdowns. This is not the day to go visit Santa. Leave them all at home!

8. Dress comfortably

This is not the day to dress up. This is not the day to wear heels.  This is not the day to wear a dress.  Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Jeans and tennis shoes or leggings and flat boots with a sweater are my go-tos for Black Friday.  Trust me! It is also a good idea to dress in layers.  Sometimes it is cold when you head out early in the morning but it is going to be hot in the stores.  There are so many people shopping that all of the body heat often makes the stores feel like a sauna.  Just remember that whatever layers you shed, you have to carry them with you.  I don’t recommend wearing a big bulky coat that you will have to carry.

9. Be willing to stay all day

Most stores will continue their sales all day and sometimes into Saturday.  This means that you can still shop for yourself in the evening.  You will still get amazing deals late in the day. If you really want to get the most out of Black Friday shopping, you should plan to stay all day.  My mom, sister, and I always end the day with a late dinner and then head home exhausted, but it’s always worth it.

10. Hydrate and Fuel

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day and don’t forget to stop for meals. Most places will give you water for free. Don’t forget to stop and eat lunch, and splurge on those goodies like the ones I mentioned above too.  You deserve it for all the craziness you will endure on Black Friday.

11. Set a Budget and Stick to It

If you make a game plan and have done your preparations beforehand, you will know about how much money you will need to get the items on your list.  Then add a little extra for those items that you see for yourself. I personally like to go with cash and try not to spend more than that amount. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but I really like to try to stay within my budget.  Just don’t forget to budget for unexpected items, food, and things for yourself.

12. Choose your Purse Carefully

Trust me! You do NOT want to be lugging around a big heavy purse.  Using a smaller one is less weight on your shoulders. Include only the things that you need for shopping.  You don’t need all of the things that you carry in your purse on a regular basis, and you don’t need a big full, heavy wallet. Just bring the essentials.  I recommend a crossbody purse because it is harder for someone to steal your purse if it is around your body, and it prevents you from setting it down in a buggy where someone can grab it easily when you aren’t looking.

13. Hold on to your Phone

Do not put your phone down anywhere! Even if you go to the bathroom! Do not set it down anywhere! Trust me! Two years ago on Black Friday, I went to the bathroom in Toys R Us with my phone in my back pocket.  Well, when I was in the stall, I set my phone on top of the toilet paper holder so it wouldn’t fall into the toilet.  I walked out without my phone.  Less than a minute later it was gone when I went back to get it.  Yep, someone stole it and I never got it back.  That added a ton of stress to the day and really ruined my mood to keep shopping.  Don’t be dumb like me! Keep it in your purse!

14. Don’t be Afraid of Lines

Yes, I know the lines are dreadful and no one wants to stand there.  I promise you that it will be worth it in the long run. They do often run faster than you think.  These retailers have experience and know what it takes to get as many people through the lines as possible.

15. Shop for Yourself

As I said earlier, Black Friday is when I get the best deals on clothing, shoes, and accessories for myself.  There are so many great deals out there.  You just have to find them. Use some of my styles I have shown you as inspiration.  Check out my Pinterest Boards for more style inspiration. My favorite places to shop for myself on Black Friday where I get the best deals are the following:

  • Old Navy-They usually have the best deals on clothing, and I always tend to get a ton of things from here.

  • Belk-This is a great place to shop for shoes. They typically have a huge sale on shoes.  This is where a lot of my boots come from. I am so bummed that we don’t have one here so I will miss out on this one this year.

  • Target-My favorite store ever! Don’t forget Target as a great place to get clothes and accessories. Don’t just go there shopping for toys. I always find great deals on clothing here as well as accessories like scarves and jewelry.

  • Bath and Body Works-If you love their lotion, body wash, and hand soaps like I do, Black Friday is the best time to stock up for the entire year.  I’m serious. Black Friday is the only time that I shop at this store. I can get enough items at a huge discount (sometimes free) to last me the whole year.  Look out in the mail for coupons from them too. They allow you to use the coupons on top of the already great deals!

  • Kohl’s-This is another great place to shop for yourself. Whether it is clothes, shoes, purses, or accessories, they have great deals.

  • Rack Room Shoes-This is another great place to shop for shoes that are heavily discounted.

  • New York and Company-I don’t really shop here as much as I used to when I was working, but I think they are worth mentioning for accessories.  I have found really cute jewelry and purses here on Black Friday.

  • Victoria’s Secret-I like to go here on Black Friday to stock up on underwear and bras.  They are so expensive normally so this is the best time to get them for a huge discount.

  • Gap, American Eagle, Loft, Banana Republic-I don’t really shop these stores much during the year do to the more expensive prices (unless it is an outlet), but they can have great deals on Black Friday that are worth checking out if you have time. I would leave these to last, though.

16. Have Fun

Above all, have a good time.  Enjoy being with whoever is shopping with you.  Black Friday shopping is just as much about the experience as it is about the great deals.

I hope these tips and tricks will help you have a successful day of shopping, and that it will remind you to shop for yourself too. Yes, Christmas is the season for giving, but you have to remember to give to yourself too.  You deserve it!  Happy shopping everyone! Come back and let me know what cute deals you score!
