Looks for Less: Target

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I see a cute shirt that I love and buy it. Then I get home with it and don’t know what to pair it with, so it ultimately sits in my closet for a while before I figure out how to put it into an outfit.  I love when I see adds with models or mannequins dressed in a complete outfit from head to toe.  That then gives me an idea of how to put an outfit together.  I have been known to walk into a store and buy the entire outfit that I saw on the mannequin in the window because I thought it was so cute.  I’ve even spent hours on Pinterest getting outfit inspiration.  That place is like a rabbit hole that I can’t get out of sometimes. Anyway, that is why I like making complete looks for you from head to toe.  It’s so much easier when someone else does the work for you, right?  You can think of me as your personal stylist! LOL!  If you see an outfit you love, you can purchase the whole thing, or you can get inspiration of things to pair with pieces you may already own.  I am certainly no fashion designer, and I don’t have any kind fashion degree or experience.  I just like clothes and shopping.  These outfits are a reflection of my personal tastes, which may or may not match up with yours.  My goal is simply to show you some pieces that I love that are currently on trend and to maybe offer a little style inspiration.

Happy Groundhog’s Day! We are on our third day in a row of snow here, so I’m thinking we are in for some more winter weather! I’m totally ok with that, though. I love seeing the glistening white everywhere I look! Just give me a warm blanket, a fire, and some hot chocolate and I am happy as can be.

Today I have put together some more outfits together.  Creating them is one of my favorite things to do.  These are complete looks from head-to-toe curtesy of Target. They include some super cute new arrivals that may just get you in the mood for spring no matter what your weather is outside.  I saw tons of florals and pastels that are going to be great as we transition to spring in the coming months.

Looks for Less: Loft Outlet

I woke up this morning in such a good mood because it is the start of Inspire Week with Trades of Hope. We weren’t able to have our annual retreat in Orlando this year due to Covid, so we are doing it virtual instead. It won’t be the same without being able to gather with my TOH sisters in person, but I am super excited about all the training and inspiring artisan interviews we are going to have. I can’t wait! Anyway, because I am in such a good mood, I felt like being a little creative this morning. What better way to do that than to do one of my favorite things ever…outfit making!  I am super obsessed with all of these looks from the Loft Outlet. The Loft is totally my jam, and the outlet is even better with their incredible prices!  I had so much fun creating these looks for less for all of you.   Check them out.

Today is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day and #wearblueday.  Today I am wearing blue to bring awareness to this horrific crime.  Many think this is a “foreign country” problem and often picture women crammed together into a shipping container in some far-off land.  Yes, it is a global issue, but it is also a “backyard” issue.  Human trafficking happens right here in the US every single day.  It happens way more than you think.  It is happening in your cities and your towns.  You just aren’t aware of it.  Most people turn a blind eye to it not recognizing the signs because they choose to believe that it isn’t possible.  To learn more about human trafficking, the DHS Blue Campaign, #WearBlueDay, and what you can do to help end it, visit dhs.gov/blue-campaign/wearblueday.

In honor of this day, I am bringing you some fair trade pieces that are helping to fight against human trafficking in Nepal.  One of my favorite fair trade companies is Elegantees.  They provide women in Nepal with job opportunities to help prevent them from being trafficked and provide a place of refuge for those who have been rescued.  Poverty is the number one factor in trafficking especially in countries like Nepal where the poverty rate is extremely high. This company was created as a way to make a difference.  Keep in mind that fair trade pieces are often considered expensive, and they should be.  This is different from many factories who can offer cheap clothing because they operate sweatshops.  Fair trade companies do not use sweatshops and give their employees a safe environment to work in and offer them a fair and living wage.  That means they are paid enough not just for basic needs but also enough for things like education, healthcare, and more. Wouldn’t you rather pay a little more knowing that the person who created your clothes was given all that and more? I know I would!

Fashion Finds: HOliday Sales WEek 5

There are still more deals to be had and more shopping days to go before Christmas.  Today I am bringing you week 5 of holiday deals and steals.  Whether you are shopping for yourself or as a gift, stores are still having some incredible sales.  I am pretty much done with all of my shopping.  I just have a few gift cards to get, and then I am ready to get wrapping. That is probably my least favorite task.  Give me all the shopping, but can someone else please do the wrapping? I dislike it so much that I try my best to put as many things as I can in a gift bag so that I don’t have to wrap it.  I usually don’t even put bows on the gifts I wrap for family.  It’s too much work to just have it ripped to shreds.  Anyone else with me on that? Anyway, go get your shop on before it is too late.  Be sure to check shipping times as some places may be past or approaching the deadlines for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

Fashion Finds: Holiday Sales Week 1

Normally this time of year, I am sharing with you my Black Friday tips and tricks. However, it’s 2020 and we know things aren’t normal.  As COVID cases are starting to rise again, many states are adding back some restrictions.  Our governor announced Friday that he is putting some on us as well.  Social gatherings have been limited to 25 people and new mask rules now apply.  One article I read even said he was encouraging virtual Thanksgivings.  As of right now businesses are still able to operate, but I don’t know for how long. Plus, I am not so sure I am willing to go out and brave the holiday shopping crowds, and I am almost positive I am not doing my typical Black Friday shopping this year.  That means that the majority of my Christmas shopping is going to be online, and I have a feeling that most of yours will be too.  We are in luck, though, because many stores have recognized that people are going to be shopping a little differently this year and are already putting out Black Friday Pre-sales online. Each week, I am going to be bringing you some great deals that I find on really cute pieces.  Today I have my top 5 picks from 5 of my favorite stores offering pre-sales.  There are some incredible deals here.  Keep in mind that I don’t know how long the sales will last and stock will sell out on some because the deals are that good.

My Christmas Wish List

The holidays are in full swing all around me.  Many of my friends have decorated for Christmas early to bring a bit of cheer to this crazy year.  My youngest is begging to put up our tree, but she hasn’t convinced her father yet.  Stores are already doing Black Friday type sales since no one is sure how the actual Black Friday will go this year.   Be sure to keep checking your favorite stores for some great deals.  My life has already gotten busy with plans throughout the season.  I feel like my weekends are filling up quickly, and I am beginning to feel the yearly holiday stress.  I am also trying to figure out what I am going to buy for my children for Christmas, and they are totally no help in deciding what they want.   If you missed my holiday gift guides from last week, be sure to check them out for all your gift giving needs.

Today I wanted to share with you some of the things that are on my personal wish list.  I typically only ask for clothes and shoes each year since those are my favorite things. This year is no different.  These are some things that have been sitting in my virtual shopping cart for weeks, and I just can’t seem to pull the trigger.  I figured I would add them to my Christmas list for anyone who is buying for me this year.  They are all so cute and super hard for me to resist!
